Camino Inglés: Ferrol - Santiago

Description

Camino between Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela

El Camino Inglés, or The English Way, passes through one of the least populated regions of Spain. It starts in the natural port of Ferrol and runs through gentle green hills, forests and small towns south, in the direction towards Santiago de Compostela. During the first two stages of this Camino you will follow the coast line and have incredible views. In Betanzos you will leave the coast and travel along a mostly flat route that will take you to Santiago de Compostela. On the way, you will discover churches, monasteries and other interesting monuments. In addition, medieval bridges, pilgrim hospitals, and small towns will make your pilgrimage a unique and unforgettable experience.

Camino Inglés has a couple of stages with hills to cross. The slopes are not very steep, and the only reason why we have characterized this road as level 3 is due to the difficulty of dividing the stages, since the number of accommodations is limited.

In the section "Stages" you will find more detailed information of each stage, as well as maps profiling each Stage along with photos.

Possibility of dividing the Stages: Yes, some. See under Description of the Stages.

Services are a bit scarce along the route, so we recommend that you always carry water and bring along something to eat with you.

The written guide for Spain is More, that you will receive a couple of weeks prior to departure on your trip, contains practical information about the pilgrim's office, restaurants, maps of towns and cities along the way, information on the location of hotels, telephone numbers, what to do in case of an emergency and many other things that will make your pilgrimage the experience of a lifetime.
